Cooper Tools - Lufkin PS3316 16' x 3/4" Pro Series Tape Measure (4pk). Most end hooks are riveted down the center…the weakest part of the blade. The Dura-Life end hook moves the rivets away from the center, putting two on each side, where the blade is stronger. Turn a Pro Series tape over and you’ll see the stainless steel reinforcement strip that more than doubles the total material thickness of the blade where the end hook is attached. It’s held in place by the four end hook rivets and by a larger fifth rivet for ultimate strength. The new Pro Series blade outlasts the competition five to one because of the outstanding durability of its Ny-Clad coating. A patented process allows the Ny-Clad coating to be applied to both sides of the entire blade for the ultimate in blade durability. Thermoplastic rubber insert provides positive feel even when wet. Patented toggle lock design is superior to slide lock designs in that it allows locking of blade without “creep”. Curved vanes raise the hook to make clipping the Pro Series tape to a belt effortless. Easily removable for use in tool pouch. Lufkin Pro Series tapes feature a die-cast center post, secured by screws at both ends. This allows the spring to be wound tighter and means the case can be smaller…17% smaller than the competition. And smaller means it fits better in the hand for added user comfort.
