Walton Tools 18001 6pc Tap Extractor Set. Remove broken taps and save the threads! Walton Tap Extractors let you remove broken taps without drilling, lasers, damaged threads, scrapped parts or repair inserts. The hardened steel fingers of Walton Tap Extractors fit in the flutes of a broken tap to back it out simply and safely. This effective method has been used since 1908. Our Tap Extractors will fit both NC and NF taps. 3 simple steps: (1) - Thoroughly remove all chips of the broken tap. Insert the Extractor fingers into the flutes of the broken tap, pushing them gently, but firmly, into position. (2) - Push the holder down until it touches the broken tap. Slide the sleeve down until it touches the work. (3) - Apply a tap wrench to the square end of the holder. Twist forward and backward a few times to loosen, then back out the broken tap.
Sizes: 3/16" to 1/2".

This is simply a great product; no wonder it has been around nearly 100-years. It is VERY easy to use, so long as you follow the simple instructions. Even an MBA could figure it out! WebToolTruck did a great job with the order too. It showed up a day earlier than promised, and at a great price. THANK YOU!!!

This tool saved me lots of work and expense. Most said I would never get the broken tap out with this tool as it was wedged very tight.

I did trash the first set of fingers, but talked with the Tech guy at Walton and followed the instructions more closely, continued to move it back and forth.

This did the trick! Was greatly relieved when this stubborn broken tap came out.

Thanks Walton!

This tool is the best. I was able to remove the tap I broke off in the water pump area of a vintage 427 Ford engine block within 20 minutes of receiving delivery on my front porch.

Broke a 5/16" tap in the lower regions of the engine in my 1964 Corvette. After recovering from the resulting heart attack, the tap extractor did it's work very well.
